Eddie’s work includes La Bella Familia, Trafficking In Broken Hearts, I’ll Take Romance, Diosa, Unmerciful Good Fortune, Icarus, and Barefoot Boy With Shoes On. His work has been produced regionally throughout the United States as well as Brazil, Russia, and Switzerland.
Among his awards are the Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays (Clean), three New York Foundation for the Arts Playwriting/Screenwriting Fellowships, the Princess Grace Playwriting Fellowship, the Daryl Roth Creative Spirit Award, and the AT&T On Stage New Play Award.
Two of his new plays, Destiny and I’ll Take Romance: The Musical, will have their world premieres in 2022/23. He currently teaches playwriting at Wesleyan University. His novel, Diary of a Puerto Rican Demigod, is available through Amazon and is under option to become a podcast series early next year. His plays are available and licensed through Broadway Play Publishing. His play Unmerciful Good Fortune is currently under option with Esperanza Films.

DESTINY
A twelve year old transgender child and hir dying father must come to terms with their own destiny. By sticking to hir guns about who zie is supposed to be, Destiny frees them all to face what is unchangeable in their lives. This play explores what it’s like to be different in a world that is not always welcoming. It relates to the LatinX experience in how we as families deal with each other when faced with what some family members can’t accept por el que diran what will the neighbors say?
