Plays include Jump/Cut, The Dew Point, Tomorrowland, A Common Vision, The Brief but Exemplary Life of the Living Goddess (as told by herself), and Misreadings, published by Samuel French. She is a recipient of an OBIE Grant award, Lilly Award, the L. Arnold Weissberger New Play Award, and Sloan and Amblin Commissions as well as an exchange at the Royal Court Theatre. A member of the BMI Lehman Engel Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop, Neena has written book & lyrics for Jade Alaska with composer Ben Diskant, commissioned by TheaterworksUSA and has contributed to New York Public Library at Lincoln Center’s Songbook Series and Jaime Lozano’s Songs by an Immigrant. She is the librettist of composer Anthony Brandt's chamber operas Ulysses, Home, and Kassandra. Neena holds a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.F.A from N.Y.U.'s Tisch School of the Arts (Paulette Goddard Fellow; Distinguished Alumni Award).

Follows a journalist of a certain age whose career, and life, hangs by a thread. She embarks on a picaresque journey to say goodbye to her father, her younger self, and the alternate selves she meets along the way. A comedy about grief, regret, and moving on.

A WORLD BENEATH

Conflates the worlds of 19th Century spirit photography and a 21st century grief group gathering in a church basement. Led by a young widow, the group decides to perform the parts of the people found in the old photographs left in a dustbin. Unexpected collisions occur in time and space.
